The Special Boat Squadron (SBS) is the special forces unit of the British Royal Navy. The SBS is primarily composed of ex-Royal Marines. They are experts in amphibious warfare and Maritime Counter-Terrorism. They also operate on dry land and they together with the Special Air Service and Special Reconnaissance Regiment form the United Kingdom Special Forces.
The Special Boat Squadron are mainly stationed at RM Poole. A Royal Marine naval base in South England. RM Poole is home for 5 Royal Marine squads and 4 Special Boat Service squads.
